I’ve been back from my Miami trip for a couple of days and am finally recovered from being totally sleep deprived. I had a nice time on the trip but there definitely was not enough time to sleep. Not that it made too much of a difference.

The race was my worst on record. My hip flared up about 2.5 miles in followed shortly by my iPod dying. The combination made for a VERY long race.

From mile 3-10 I was able to do lengths of about a mile before I had to walk. The more I ran the tighter and more painful my hip got. By mile 10 I had to stretch every 200-300 yards and had to walk much more than I would have liked. All together I was about 20-25 minutes off pace.

The race itself was very nice. The weather was beautiful, the city was nice and clean, and it was very well organized.

As for me, my next stop is the doctor’s office Monday morning. After 3 months of resting and limited work I should be significantly, if not totally, healed. The sad fact is I am not. My inkling is I have bursitis in the bursa sac they injected last September.  Hopefully they can get it cleared up and I can be ready to run in a few weeks.
