Worst Cub game ever (where they won)
Wednesday, August 29th, 2007I have been very busy the last couple of months. Through this busyness one day has been sitting on my calendar as a beacon of light. Back in July I bought 2 Cub tickets to last nights game. They were WAY under face value, because at the time the Cubs were struggling. So last night my best friend Chuck and I jumped in the Torrent and cruised down for the game.
Chuck and I are what you would call Wrigley veterans. In our heyday we would go to 4 or 5 games a year together. Because our lives have gotten busier we are down to one or two. This was going to be our first game of the year.
We got down to Wrigleyville relatively quick for a night game. We were at our normal parking spot 15 minutes prior to the game. The only problem was the lot was full. Not a huge deal except we now were in danger of missing the first pitch. So we had to go with the plan B lots which tends to cost a little more. Unfortunately those we all full too. At this point the game had started. From the look of things there were 40,000 people in the stadium and about that many out on the streets looking to either get in or bar hop all night. To make a long story short we checked EVERY lot we have ever parked in or seen. No spots. This was an hour and a half process. Finally we were forced to turn around and drive to a sports bar/grill and watch the game on TV.
Thankfully they won. And I at least had a good meal.
From now on I’m an L kind of guy.
